The conjugated linoleic acid and linolenic acid, CLA and CLnA, respectively, are a mixture of positional and geometric isomers of alpha-linolenic acid (18:3n-3) and linoleic acid (18:2n-6). Given the importance of these acids in the human diet and the lack of studies that address the incorporation of these conjugated fatty acids in muscle tissue of tilapia, this study aimed to supplement the diet of this fish seeking the incorporation of CLnA. After adaptation time (20 days), the treatment enriched with CLnA was added for thirty days, with samples taken at different periods (10, 20 and 30 days). The total lipids (TL) of the muscle tissue of tilapia were extracted, cold and then transesterified to chromatographic analysis. In periods subsequent to the time zero, the incorporation of CLnA was notorious, assuming maximum values in the last period, close to 25 mg / g of LT. Moreover, it was possible to observe the biosynthesis of conjugated linoleic acid, reaching a maximum in the third period. Based on these results, we can conclude that there has been the incorporation of conjugated linoleic acid in muscle tissue of this fish, as well as the biosynthesis of CLA, and they took significant values when compared to time zero, where it was not possible to identify them. Thus, the use of this product may contribute to the intake of conjugated fatty acids, CLA and as CLnA, which are found in small amounts in the human diet and are important nutritional value.
