The objective of this paper is to present a proposal for an integration approach between Lean Healthcare (LH) and Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA), in order to explore their synergy to improve the efficiency of hospitals. The steps to be developed for this proposal are established, given the absence of a systematization present in the literature. Therefore, a theoretical basis is presented, in which the role of DEA in health and the limited interactions between it and LH are explained, showing the absence of approaches that deepen both concepts. Thus, in the methodology, the approach is segmented into two phases, the first of which aims to draw an initial overview of the efficiency of the set of hospitals under analysis, and the second has the final objective of directing the metrics and decisions of HL application to inefficient hospitals, based on a targeted study of the benchmarks.
