Abstract

From the time-domain nuclear magnetic resonance technique, it was possible to determine the oil content and residual moisture after drying in the mesocarpio (pulp) of the macaúba matrix. A batch of 38 samples was used, where 13 samples were selected, each with a mass of 10 g. The NMR signals of these 13 samples were acquired and later the sample was  separated to determine the oil content carried out in the SG laboratory of São Carlos by the reference method: Ether Extract and Moisture, Brazilian Compendium of Animal Feed 2023, laboratory M.14 by the laboratory SG Soluções Científicas LTDA. The results received from the laboratory were used for calibration of the SpecFIT NMR equipment and, subsequently, the oil content of the other samples was determined according to the ISO 10565 standard Oilseeds — Simultaneous determination of oil and water contents — Method using pulsed nuclear magnetic resonance spectrometry. To analyze the data, an ANOVA statistical analysis was performed and the results obtained between the methods were statistically comparable, since the critical F < F and -P value > 0.05. For the calibration of the humidity curve, the samples with the best correlation were selected, since humidity is an unstable parameter and there was a waiting time between the results being emitted in the laboratory and the moment when the signal was acquired. The results obtained between the methods are statistically comparable by the ANOVA test, since the critical F < F and P-value > 0.05
