LANGUAGE AND DEVELOPMENT: A PROPOSAL OF INTER/TRANS/DISCIPLINARY THEORETICAL-METHODOLOGICAL DIALOGUES Abstract: This coordinated session aims to gather research papers that discuss the possible theoretical and methodological articulations between different theoretical contributions and the ISD, through inter/trans/disciplinary dialogues, involving initial and continuous teacher education, teaching knowledge and capacities, language teachers’ planning and decision-making, language studies and text production. In order to do so, we focus our work on the theoretical-methodological assumptions of Sociodiscursive Interactionism (BRONCKART, 1999/2009), on the genre-based approach for the language teaching and on the language capacities (SCHNEUWLY; DOLZ, 2004; CRISTOVÃO; STUTZ, 2011; CRISTOVÃO, 2013), in the knowledge and teaching capacities (HOFSTETTER; SCHNEUWLY, 2009; LIBANEO, 2012, 2015, QUEVEDO-CAMARGO, 2011; STUTZ, 2012), in the Education Sequence (DOLZ; GAGNON, 2018; FRANCESCON; CRISTOVÃO; TOGNATO, 2018), in the Didactic Sequence (DOLZ; NOVERRAZ; SCHNEUWLY, 2004) in articulation with the Cultural Historical Theory - CHT (VIGOTSKI, 1978, 2009) and its development proposed by an Transforming Activist Posture (STETSENKO, 2010, 2017; STETSENKO; VIANNA, 2009), in the teaching planning and language teachers decision-making (WOODS, 1996) and in the argumentation about the discursive ethos (FIORIN, 2015). It is a question of aggregating research related to initial and/or continuous education, which can problematize teaching through the text genres, considering the importance of the dialogue among different inter/trans/disciplinary theoretical-methodological perspectives. We hope to offer an opportunity for the social debate based on the results of several studies that point out possibilities of advances in the language teachers education and development, as well as in the field of language studies, as they are some of the challenges of the University. Keywords: Inter/transdisciplinary dialogues; Language and development; Initial and continuous teacher education; Language studies; Teaching planning and decision-making. EDUCATION SEQUENCE – POSSIBILITIES FOR TEACHER PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT THROUGH A TRANSFORMATIVE ACTIVIST STANCE Abstract: This work is part of a PhD research whose general objective is to investigate if and in what extent occurs the development of English Language teachers of Public Schools in the State of Paraná when they participate in an Education Sequence (DOLZ; GAGNON, 2018; FRANCESCON; CRISTOVÃO; TOGNATO, 2017; GRAÇA; PEREIRA; DOLZ, 2015; SILVA, 2013). For this coordinated session, the focus will be on one of the specific objectives proposed by the research, that is, characterize the interactions built during the education meetings based on the existence of conflicts and appropriation of knowledge, considering the action figures (BULEA, 2010), aimed at the development of knowledge and teaching capacities (HOFSTETTER; SCHNEUWLY, 2009; LIBANEO, 2012, 2015; STUTZ, 2012). To that end, this study is based on Sociodiscursive Interactionism (BRONCKART, 2006, 2012; MACHADO, 2005; CRISTOVÃO; MACHADO, 2011) and on language teaching based on text genres through the Didactic Sequence procedure (DOLZ; NOVERRAZ; SCHNEUWLY, 2004), articulated with the Cultural Historical Theory (VIGOTSKI, 1978, 2009) and its unfoldings proposed by a Transformative Activist Stance (STETSENKO, 2010, 2017; STETSENKO; VIANNA, 2009). The results point to the need to expand the spaces that allow the teacher to assume his position as an actor in order to carry out actions that impact on his own formation and, consequently, in his actions in the classroom, through a transformative activist stance, to himself, to his students, as well as to the socio-historical context with which they (teacher and students) interact. Keywords: Education sequence; Transformative activist stance; Teacher development. THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE DISCURSIVE ETHOS IN OPINION ARTICLES PRODUCED IN COLLEGE ENTRANCE EXAMINATION (VESTIBULAR) TEXTS Abstract: The argumentation, discursive action which purpose is to direct a positioning, has a long tradition in linguistic studies, dating since the classical antiquity. For Aristotle, three factors contribute to persuasion: (Fiorin, 2015): éthos (image of the speaker), páthos (auditorium) and logos (the discourse), and in this communication, we intend to establish a relationship between the construction of the discursive ethos and the textual analysis proposal of the Socio-Discursive Interactionism, which core is in the description of textual architecture through the superposition of hierarchical and dependent layers - the text general infrastructure, the mechanisms of textualization and the enunciative mechanisms (BRONCKART, 1999). The texts analyzed, belonging to the genre of opinion article, were produced by candidates for the course of Letras of the State University of Paraná, Campo Mourão campus, at the time of the selection process. Since 2014, the tests carried out at Unespar have requested the production of a specific genre, and in all its editions the required genres belonged to the order of argument, being required an argumentative positioning of the participants in their productions. Taking this into account, we aim to understand how the ethos, understood as the image of a discursive author, is made explicit by means of marks left in the enunciation in order to impress upon saying a certain enunciative position. The results, which are still partial, indicate little maturity of the candidates in the mobilization of linguistic and discursive resources for the constitution of an "articulist ethos", as expected by the production proposal. Keywords: Textual architecture; Discursive ethos; Text production in College entrance examination. TEACHING KNOWLEDGE: NECESSARY AND CHALLENGING THEORETICAL ARTICULATIONS FROM EDUCAÇÃO, TEACHING AND DIDACTIC SEQUENCES Abstract: This work aims at presenting and discuss possibilities of theoretical articulations among different theoretical perspectives and the Sociodiscursive Interactionism (ISD) (BRONCKART, 1997/2009), directed to the language teacher education context, specifically, from the English Language area, in order to promote a social debate on teaching and learning issues, teaching knowledge and capacities, an activity system of teacher education and mediating elements such as contributions to this education process. For this, we base our work in the SDI perspective, in the language capacities (DOLZ; PASQUIER; BRONCKART, 1993; CRISTOVÃO; STUTZ, 2011), in the Didactic Sequence (SD) (DOLZ; NOVERRAZ, SCHNEUWLY; 2004) and the Education Sequences (ES) (DOLZ; GAGNON, 2018), in the Teaching Knowledge (HOFSTETTER; SCHNEUWLY, 2009), in the Teaching Capacities (CRISTOVÃO, 2007a, QUEVEDO-CAMARGO; 2011, STUTZ, 2012) and in the Cultural and Historical Theory perspective and in the procedure of the Didactic-Formative Experiment (VIGOTSKI, 2009; DAVIDOV, 1988; SFORNI, 2004; 2015; SYLVIO, 2015; AQUINO, 2014; CEDRO, 2008). Regarding the methodological procedures, we used analyzes of a doctoral research data set, such as: Teaching Plans, Education and Didactic Sequences, written productions of teachers in initial formation, transcriptions and Class Diaries. In relation to the analyzes, we are guided by the criteria of the language and the teaching capacities. The results point to possible reconfigurations, which may contribute to the development of language capacities and potentialize the mobilization of teaching capacities, considering the context of this study. Keywords: Teacher Education; Gender-Based Approach; Education Sequences; Didactic Sequences; Language capacities; Teaching Knowledge and Capacities. THE DIDACTIC SEQUENCES PLANNING: POSSIBLE THEORETICAL ARTICULATIONS ON LANGUAGE TEACHERS PLANNING AND DECISION MAKING Abstract: Planning has not been a prioritized practice in our schools, considering the work conditions given by the Brazilian educational systems for its accomplishment. Focusing on teacher planning process, I present results of a doctoral research which aimed at investigating the construction of spaces for the English student-teacher’s development within the Institutional Program of Teaching Initiation (IPTI), by means of the planning, production and didactic sequences implementation (DS) and the reflexivity on these processes. The theoretical-methodological framework used is based on the first instance, on the studies of Sociodiscursive Interactionism (SDI) (BRONCKART, 2013, 2009[1999], 2008, 2006; MACHADO; BRONCKART, 2009; BRONCKART; MACHADO, 2004), in its didactic aspect (SCHNEUWLY; DOLZ et al., 2004) and its research related to teacher education (STUTZ, 2012; LANFERDINI, 2012; CRISTOVÃO; MACHADO, 2011; CRISTOVÃO, 2010, 2005, 2002; DENARDI, 2009; ROJO, 2001). In addition, I propose theoretical articulations with studies linked to languages teaching planning and language teachers’ decision-making developed by Woods (1996). The participants were twelve student-teachers, one teacher-educator and two school-teachers, members of PIBID’s subproject English Language from a public University in Paraná State, developed in a partnership with two public schools. Due to some delimitations, four student-teachers configured themselves as protagonist participants. Part of the results obtained involved theoretical expansions in relation to the "ethno-cognitive" model of language teachers’ decision-making proposed by Woods (1996) and to the proposition of a concept for "decision-making”. The analyzes show decisions made by the research participants and constituent factors of such decisions. The data analysis revealed the emergence of seven DS planning dimensions: social/interactional, prefigurative, transpersonal, conflictual, cognitive, reflexivity and affective, which were considered as potencial promoters of English language student-teachers’ development. Keywords: Planning; Didatic sequence; PIBID; English language; Initial education.
