Abstract

INTRODUCTION Corporeality shows us that the body is not just a machine or an object, but a fundamental part of our existence in the world. For him, the body is a privileged means of access to the world. It is through the body that we relate to the world and the world relates to us. Artistic gymnastics (GA), being a sport with a broad and infinite capacity for locomotion and performing acrobatic movements, brings an intimate relationship with body construction. "Rhythmic gymnastics is an art-sport, which integrates art and dance. It significantly develops psychomotor actions demanding from its practitioners varied qualities, abilities, and originality, leading to the possibility of total psychosocial integration." (SOARES, 2017). General Objective Reflect on the aspects presented about corporeality, the body, and its use in the practice of gymnastics Specific objectives Identify the various epistemologies developed based on the relationship between gymnastics movement and corporeality. 2. Classify the different epistemologies which refer to corporeality in the practice of body activities, highlighting and praising artistic and rhythmic gymnastics with its knowledge in Brazil and abroad. METHODOLOGY In the bibliographic search we selected articles in Portuguese in the Biblioteca Científica Eletrônica Online (SciELO), Biblioteca Digital de Teses e Dissertações (BDTD) and Google acadêmico databases. The descriptors "Corporeity AND gymnastics, rhythmic gymnastics and artistic gymnastics" were used. Data analysis Initially, 37 articles were selected from the researched databases, of which 3 articles were duplicates and were eliminated. The remaining 34 articles were analyzed, and the methodology, year of the studies, and whether they had body, corporeality, artistic gymnastics, and rhythmic gymnastics as their themes were observed. After reading these articles, 29 were discarded, leaving 8 articles for further study, and 2 articles were manually added, which were included in this review. RESULTS As results we present 3 articles classified within the epistemology of the Phenomenology of perception. Phenomenology of perception proposes that knowledge begins with the body's experience of the world, that is, the way the human body perceives and interacts with the surrounding environment. These articles are within this perspective. Two articles were classified within the epistemology of corporeality in education. The epistemology of corporeality in education emphasizes the importance of the body in learning and in the construction of knowledge. This approach emphasizes the need for an education that values and uses the body as an element of teaching and learning. Within the cognitive epistemology of corporeality, which emphasizes the relationship between sensory perception and cognition, 5 articles were classified: According to this approach, the human body has cognitive abilities that allow it to interpret and understand the world. FINAL CONSIDERATIONS In concluding this work, after readings and discussions, we can understand that artistic gymnastics and rhythmic gymnastics are disciplines that have in common the centrality of the body and corporeality in their practice. Both modalities involve the interweaving of body movements and motor skills with artistic expression, which are appreciated as expressions of high level and high plasticity, which makes gymnastics modalities that captivate numerous audiences.
