Based on a structured protocol, 20 articles were selected from the Scopus and Web of Science databases related to the use of multicriteria methods and structured decision approaches. The analysis of the studies allowed us to map the main criteria used in the selection processes, as well as the methods applied, highlighting the predominant use of approaches based on compensatory rationality, such as AHP, TOPSIS and SAW. However, it was found that there is a scarcity of models that consider the use of non-compensatory rationality methodologies. As a contribution, the study proposes the future development of a multicriteria framework that explores the multicriteria approach with potential for practical application in the selection of startups.
