Abstract

The military operational environments of the 21st century are characterized by the constant generation, manipulation, and automatic exchange of data, carried out by heterogeneous digital systems. When interoperability is lacking, data exchange must occur through a Multi Data System Processor (MDSP), ensuring timely situational awareness. This article identifies the main components of this such operational context and proposes MDSP-based communication architectures capable of enabling the automatic sharing of data between heterogeneous systems. The research adopts a qualitative approach, based on Design Science Research, with modeling and empirical evaluation. The results link the identified architectures to operational scenarios according to their characteristics.
