Abstract

Due to technological advancements, using computational tools to solve problems is increasingly common. In sports, the scenario is no different. In Master’s rowing regattas, allocating athletes in competitions is crucial to the club’s performance in championships. We proposed an integer programming formulation for allocating athletes in Masters Rowing Regattas to get the best possible results in each race. We solved this problem using CPLEX to find optimal solutions. We created a support decision tool with a graphical interface that allows users to enter data, obtain solutions, and test several configurations. This tool enables coaches to find solutions in less time and test several parameters much more straightforwardly than manually doing these activities.
