In this work, we used computer simulation to test the feasibility of redesigning surgical center processes validating a day-hospital project in the largest private hospitals' network of Minas Gerais, Brazil. The results provide a better understanding of the process for the hospital's managers and suggest that numerous, and bureaucratic processes can have its efficiency increased by 14.22% by implementing the modifications proposed in the simulation scenarios.
