Abstract

Clinics treating Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) face unique challenges, especially in managing Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), which dominates their costs and revenues. With the increasing demand for ABA, efficiently allocating therapists becomes crucial to balance quality of care and financial sustainability. The increase in the number of patients diagnosed with ASD puts pressure on clinics' budgets, leading to high expenditures on personnel and equipment. The lack of mathematical tools to estimate the optimal number of professionals can result in overload or underutilization of therapists, hindering operational efficiency. This article explores how the implementation of a mathematical model in an autism clinic enables a more rational allocation of therapists, optimizing schedules and reducing costs. Applying this model not only decreases expenses but also improves the quality and accessibility of services. Future research may adapt this approach to other therapies.
