Abstract

Choosing a higher education course is a significant challenge for young people, with a considerable impact on their future. This decision involves a complex process of analyzing various alternatives, evaluating the pros and cons, and considering personal aspirations and goals. In addition, it is a decision that can have important ramifications on both the individual's personal and professional life, adding an extra layer of difficulty to the decision-making process. In this article, we explore the application of VFT (Value-Focused Thinking) to help decision-makers consider relevant criteria and alternatives, aiming for solutions that are aligned with their goals and core values. Then, the PROMETHEE-ROC multicriteria method was applied to order the selected alternatives.
