Abstract

Drought vulnerability refers to a region's environmental, social, and economic susceptibility to water scarcity. Although some studies have explored the drought problem, a few studies assess the drought vulnerability of a region or city from different individual perspectives and multiple objectives. Identifying and acting in vulnerable drought areas is crucial for developing and directing effective strategies to mitigate or minimize the impacts of water scarcity. From this perspective, a group multi-criteria classification model was developed to evaluate to drought vulnerability assessment in the brazilian semiarid. The research findings demonstrate that the proposed model can effectively assist the public policy decision-making, enabling the development of strategic policies and efforts in cities most vulnerable to drought.
