Abstract

This article aims to establish a new methodological proposal with an emphasis on equity in decision-making, called the AHP-Equitable Method. The idea behind the method is to give greater weight to criteria that have characteristics of favoring equity based on asymmetries and variabilities above and below the median of the scores of the alternatives in the criteria. To this end, the feasibility of this method was put into practice in a problem of Ordinance to support decisions regarding the prioritization of federative entities in the receipt of financial resources for education. The result obtained presented a good performance since it evidenced criteria that presented greater discrepancies in the performances of the states, in addition to bringing results in the ranking that were very consistent with reality.
