Abstract

On-the-job training develops new competencies in the workforce, contributing to improved productivity and the chances of achieving strategic objectives. The Federal Constitution, in Article 39, charged the Union, States and the Federal District with providing government schools to train and improve public servants. Thus, each sphere of the political-administrative organization promotes policies and norms in this regard. The specialized literature presents the survey of training needs, in the "developing people" process, as the first step for the successful management of this process. The objective of the research is to analyze the transversal training needs in the Mato Grosso State Department of Public Security (SESP-MT). Through data collection, the perception of SESP-MT employees regarding the importance of a list of transversal competencies was analyzed. The frequencies on the Likert scale were submitted to the Probabilistic Composition of Preferences for the hierarchy of transversal skills.
