Crea un temaThe use of agro-industrial residues associated with Neurospora sp. to produce bioaromas is an ecological and profitable alternative. This work aims for the study of combined residues as substrate to obtain ethyl hexanoate by Neurospora sitophila. The strain was inoculated into a slant tube of potato dextrose agar at 30°C for 72 hours. After fungal growth, a spore suspension obtained with 10 ml of sterile water was transferred to 50 mL of Yeast Malt broth, and incubated in a shaker at 30°C, 200 rpm for 24 hours. One gram of the biomass was added into 50 mL of medium (10% w/v in a 1:1 ratio of sugarcane bagasse and malt bagasse), and it was kept in a shaker at 30°C, 200 rpm for 96 hours. For extraction, 0.1 g of NaCl and 1 mL of diethyl ether were added to 5 mL of the fermented medium. One microliter of sample was analyzed by a GC-FID, with a fused silica capillary column TR-5 (60 m x 0.25 mm x 0.5 μm). Injector mode and temperature: splitless, 250° C; purge time: 1 min., purge flow: 20 ml.min−1; helium flow rate: 1 ml.min−1, oven: 50° C (1 min.); 10° C min−1 up to 150° C; 20° C min−1 up to 200° C for 3min; and detector was a 250°C. The comparison of the retention time of the ethyl hexanoate standard as well as the fortification of the samples were used as parameters to confirm the target peak. The values obtained every 24 hours were 2.02; 9.77; 13.96 and 6.15 mg/L of ethyl hexanoate, and it is observed that the highest concentration was obtained at 72 hours of fermentation. Therefore, the combined use of the used agro-residues proved to be feasible for the production of this bioaroma for the first time to our knowledge.
