ANALYSIS OF THE CHALLENGES FOR THE IMPLEMENTATION OF EC 80/2014 AND THE EFFECTIVENESS OF THE INSTITUTIONAL MISSION OF THE PUBLIC DEFENDER'S OFFICE OF THE STATE OF PARÁ

Constitutional Amendment No. 80/2014 provided that by the year 2022, all jurisdictional units in the country should have the presence of at least 01 (one) Public Defender. In 2023 we see that this is still far from being the reality of the Union and the States. In this context, the present work seeks to identify possible possibilities of solving the problem presented, focusing mainly on the analysis of the budget of the Public Defender's Office of the State of Pará between the years 2020 and 2023. Based on the analysis of the Institution's own data, it was sought to obtain the necessary budget amount to implement the constitutional dictates, as well as alternatives for efficiency gains that allow to meet, partially or fully, this need for supplementation.
