Abstract

The purpose of the article is to promote reflections and bring discussions about why studying black media in a digital environment is important. For this, we sought as the object of analysis the black media, represented by the news agency Alma Preta. As the main theoretical basis, we are guided by the theories presented by Beatriz Nascimento, Roger Silverstone and Stuart Hall. We discuss through analysis how black media appropriates digital platforms to build positive narratives about black identity, challenging the discursive hegemony of traditional media and combating stereotypes. The study investigates the discourses used on the platform to reinforce their meanings and dialogue with the black community in the digital environment.
