In the current times of popularization of artificial intelligence, many people use the technology without reflecting on its ethical, environmental, and cultural impacts. This article departs from the recent phenomenon of AI-generated filters with Studio Ghibli aesthetics to discuss the paradoxes between technological innovation and mnemonic aspects, both personal and collective, present in the works of Hayao Miyazaki and Isao Takahata. Based on authors such as Halbwachs, Benedict, Hirai and Bichler, it investigates how the Ghibli aesthetic, built on tradition, social criticism and spiritual beliefs, has been emptied by mass visual appropriations. The study proposes a more conscious approach to the use of technology, suggesting a balance between artistic sensitivity, environmental responsibility and respect for the philosophy that underlies the studio.
