This article analyzes the 639 App, a dating app that subverts the hegemonic logics of fast dating through devisualization and the mystical-technical delegation of affinity. The research explores the communicability of the platform from three axes: 1) the aesthetics of absence and the reconfiguration of the relational experience; 2) the proposition of specific knowledge, which transmutes astrology into algorithmic knowledge; and 3) specific user engagement, mediated by management of waiting and return time. The methodology employs a theoretical essay based on documentation of the application and on authors such as Han, Illouz, and Foucault. We conclude that 639 reconfigures agency and responsibility, introducing a mystical rationality that, although it criticizes superficiality, schooling desire and creates new paradoxes of algorithmic mediation of intimacy.
