This research has been focused in evaluating sound pressure levels and possible acoustic pollution produced by aircraft flyover noise events, according to noise levels monitoring and “guidelines for community noise” from World Health Organization (WHO). Research was done in Suba, a neighborhood located in Bogotá-Colombia, and development involved quantification of each aircraft contribution to noise pollution in the study area, through individual noise events indicators (Sound Exposure Level and LAmax), in accordance with acoustic standard ISO 20906. Community perception regard the continued increase in air traffic over study area and heath impact was also studied. In four measurement random days, a pilot test was conducted with respect to air traffic that overflies the neighborhood. Test result showed that aircrafts exceeded the noise levels proposed by the WHO. This result was useful to identify that there is a noise problem in this neighborhood due to this type of noise source.
