Abstract

INTRODUCTION: Anticoagulants, antithrombotics and antiplatelet agents are
important groups of drugs in the prophylaxis of cerebrovascular accident, and are recognized
as effective treatments for thromboembolic events. However, problems
Cardiovascular diseases can occur even with the administration of these drugs. Tais
events may be the result of drug interactions, or of resistance to these < /> medicines. The present study gathered scientific evidence that addresses the possible
Impairment of efficacy and safety in the use of antithrombotics in patients who are< /> in prophylactic therapy with Proton Pump Inhibitors (PPIs). METHODS: This is
a review in which scientific articles published in the database
were selected Pubmed, in 2022 and 2023. The following descriptors were used: "proton pump inhibitors",
"adverse effect" and "antithrombotics" combined using the Boolean operator AND, de
in accordance with the recommended PRISMA guidelines. A total of 22 articles were found, of which
06 met the selection criteria and, therefore, are included in this study.
RESULTS: The data indicate an increasing increase in the number of PPI prescriptions, which are already
among the most prescribed drugs in the world, in addition to antithrombotics, especially for
a higher probability of relevant drug interaction for the individuals evaluated,
in which there was a higher risk of cardiac events, thrombus formations, and acute infarction
myocardium
