In the last years, the representation of nature phenomena considering fractional differential models has motivated the development of research in different fields. This interest is due to to development of new strategies to solve this kind of problem and to the increasing sophistication of digital computers. In this contribution, the kinetics parameters of laccase fermentation process are
obtained through the formulation and solution of an inverse problem considering the Differential Evolution algorithm. In this problem, fractional differential models are used represent the mass balances that govern the fermentation process. The obtained results are compared with those considering integer differential models. This comparison demonstrated that this kind of fractional model could be used as an alternative to estimate kinetics parameters.
