MALT BAGASSE AS A SOURCE OF FERMENTABLE SUGAR FOR BIOETHANOL PRODUCTION: A STUDY USING ULTRASOUND TECHNOLOGY

Favoritar este trabalho

The aim of this study was to find a strategic appliance for malt bagasse, once it is a lignocellulosic material and has potential for bioethanol production. A mixture of three different enzymes (cellulase, α-amylase, and amyloglucosidase) was applied and their performance was evaluated by kinetic studies. Maximum TRS yield were 408.8 and 219.9 mg.g-1 in the absence and presence of ultrasound irradiation, respectively. The maximum values of sugar released during kinetic studies varied between 6 and 7 g.L-1 at five hours, and the enzyme that presented higher assimilation with the substrate was amyloglucosidase, being responsible for 43% of sugar releasing.
