CELLULOLYTIC COMPLEX PRODUCED BY STRAINS OF Trichoderma asperellum AND Fusarium sp.

The biofuel produced from lignocellulosic materials have economic and environmental advantages when compared to first generation bioethanol. In this context, this work objective is to select which strains from a twenty-one strains mycology collection of Farroupilha Lallemand Laboratory has best performance for cellulolytic enzymatic complex production. Based on ‘’enzymatic index’’, two strains were selected for enzymatic complex production: Trichoderma asperellum (GF 04) and Fusarium sp. (GF 28), which were cultured in State Solid Fermentation (SSF) in order to evaluate the influence of the medium composition and fermentation time in the enzymatic production. The medium consisted of SBLS (Sugarcane Bagasse treated with Low Severity) supplemented with three different substrates: Soybean Flour (SM), Cottonseed Flour (CM) and Rice Bran (RB). In addition, 36 and 60 h of fermentation time were evaluated. After fermentation, the FPase test showed enzymatic activity of 0.23 U/g for T. asperellum at 60 h and 0.4 U/g for Fusarium sp at 36 h, obtained in medium supplemented with CM. When CMCase test were used to evaluate the endoglucanase activity, the values of 0.45 U/g and 0.74 U/g were obtained for T.asperellum and Fusarium sp, respectively for CM (60 h fermentation time) and RB (36 h fermentation time).
