This work aims to evaluate the biodegradation of anionic surfactants present in commercial detergents, mainly in the powdered form, adopting the percentage of biodegradability of liquid detergents as a reference. This is a poorly studied alternative in Brazil and is a very relevant research since, according to BNDES studies, most of the surfactants of this group are destined to the manufacture of laundry powder detergents. The results obtained in this study showed that both analyzed samples of liquid and powder detergents are biodegradable according to the recommended limits and specifications present in Brazilian sanitary legislation.
