If you've NEVER registered a DOI in your Lattes, check our tutorial! This paper evaluates the efficiency of Brazilian electricity distributors through the DEA network model with shared input, using TOTEX as input, given by operating costs (OPEX) and capital costs (CAPEX). The modeling proposes two interconnected stages, corresponding to the technical-operational processes (Network) and Commercial processes, allowing the decomposition of the overall efficiency into partial components. 49 distributors were analyzed, with products such as network extension, installed power, number of consumers, weighted consumption and indicators of quality of service and reliability. The global median efficiency is 81.94%, with emphasis on the higher performance in the technical-operational stage. The results show coherence with previous studies, and demonstrate the potential of the DEA network model for regulatory application. It is concluded that the approach based on TOTEX, combined with network modeling, offers greater realism and discriminatory capacity, contributing to the improvement of regulatory benchmarking practices in the electricity sector.
