Abstract

Urban Solid Waste Management (MSWM) is one of the greatest contemporary environmental challenges, especially in developing countries, due to its complexity, multiple stakeholders, social, economic and environmental impacts. The Problem Structuring Methods (PSMs) emerge, in this context, as appropriate methods to deal with this problematic situation. This study presents a Systematic Bibliometric Review (RBS) on the use of PSMs in GRSU. The research mapped which methods have been applied, in which stages of management they were used and for what purposes, based on a rigorous methodology for the selection and analysis of articles, the RBS Roadmap. The work shows how PSMs have been used to deal with complexities, facilitate understanding between different stakeholders and support the formulation of more integrated solutions. In addition to synthesizing the current state of the literature, the study identifies gaps and suggests paths for future investigations.
