Abstract

This paper presents a study and computational implementation, through the use of cellu-lar automata and multi-agent systems, of the SIRD (Susceptible-Infectious-Recovered-Death) mo-del, with the objective of simulating the spread of diseases in a theoretical context in nine differentscenarios, considering the spatial distribution of individuals, the response to infection of each agent, the mortality rate and contagion. The proposed approach provides tools to assist in the control andprevention of the spread of diseases, thus aiding in making more informed decisions in a publichealth context.
