In this context, this paper presents the application of computer simulations in manual order handling cells, using the FlexSim software and its Experimenter tool. Based on a simulated model of a parcel handling centre, scenarios with different operational parameters were tested, modifying the number of operators per cell and the number of parcels handled per CDL (Light Collapsible Container). The results obtained reveal significant differences between the simulated scenarios, which, when transposed to real environments, can represent significant gains in productivity and reduction of operators' idle time. These analyses are in line with theoretical evidence that points to simulation as an effective tool for logistics decisions.
