Abstract

The adoption of Discrete Event Simulation (SED) in industrial environments requires rigor in documenting and handling assumptions (decisions about missing data) and simplifications (deliberate abstractions). This study presents an Action Research protocol applied to the H01 machining line of bearings in a company located in Itajubá, a city in the south of Minas Gerais. The conceptual modeling in BPMN of the real flow and the model in PROMODEL allowed the validation of assumptions with managers. The approach resulted in greater transparency, confidence in the results, and subsidies for incremental improvement proposals.
