Abstract

Due to increasing competitiveness, appropriate strategic decisions help companies stand out in the market. Among these, project portfolio selection is a key activity to ensure alignment with business objectives. However, this decision is complex and involves multiple goals. In this context, this study developed a multicriteria model to assist a small food-sector company in selecting a portfolio of improvement projects. Fifteen projects were analyzed based on four criteria and a financial resource constraint, using the non-compensatory rationality method c-optimal PROMETHEE, which is suitable for this type of problem and capable of identifying the truly optimal portfolio. The recommended portfolio, composed of nine projects, proved to be promising and consistent with the decision maker's objectives. Therefore, the importance of studies like this is highlighted, as they support organizations in solving complex problems and in adding value to their customers.
