Abstract

The article explores the integration of surveillance cameras, Waze data, and rain gauge measurements for flood monitoring in Rio de Janeiro. It highlights innovation in automating data collection through intelligent triggers, enabling efficient capture of images and information in real-time during flooding events. The methodology covers critical areas and uses operational parameters to optimize collection. The results show a robust system that captured more than 62,000 videos and 591,919 images in 2023, contributing to a valuable database for future analysis and mitigation strategies. The article emphasizes the importance of integrating diverse data sources and automation in climate risk management in urban areas.
