Abstract

Many companies and governments are evaluating energy solutions within their businesses and regions, seeking both the energy diversification and the decarbonization to reduce its impacts on the climate changes that we witnesses in different parts of the world. The analysis of these energy solutions considers a wide diversity of energies from renewable sources, which requires the evaluation of a multiplicity of criteria, often conflicting. To achieve this goal, a path that has proven to be robust is the adoption of multi-criteria decision-making methods. Within this context, this research carries out a systematic literature review on the adoption of multi-criteria decision-making methods in the search for energy diversification and decarbonization solutions, aiming identify the main methods adopted in those analysis, the most considered evaluation criteria for each type of energy, and the types and coverage of sources that provides the criteria data considered on the decision-making processes.
