The macaúba (Acrocomia aculeata) is an oil palm in the Arecaceae family, widely distributed in Brazil. Its main characteristic is its high resistance to conditions of low water availability, which highlights its rusticity compared to other palm trees. The macaúba fruit has a great potential for use, including oil, pulp and almond, which can be used for various purposes. Currently, macaúba has gained relevance in studies aimed at the production of biodiesel, and can replace palm oil. The objective of this study was to evaluate the effects of liming on the growth and development of macaúba. The application of limestone has the role of neutralizing toxic aluminum, abundant in Brazilian oxisols, in addition to increasing soil pH and raising calcium and magnesium levels, important factors for plant development. The experiment was carried out at the experimental farm of EPAMIG, in Uberaba, Minas Gerais, Brazil, in a randomized block design with four replications. Each experimental plot consisted of 16 plants, spaced at 5 m x 5 m, and the useful area consisted of four central plants. The doses of limestone tested were: 0 (D0), half the recommended dose (D1), recommended dose (D2), 1.5 times the dose (D3) and twice the recommended dose (D4). The D2 dose was calculated to reach 60% base saturation, resulting in 0.1360, 2720, 4080 and 5440 kg ha-1 of limestone, respectively. Agronomic characteristics of the plant were evaluated, as well as the macro and micronutrient contents of the soil in the 0-20 cm layer, in addition to the analysis of leaflets of the second leaf
