Abstract

The present study considered an area of 1 hectare of macaúba, triangular planting (4mx4mx9m), density of 384 plants, combined with the production of beans and peanuts, alternated over 20 years, with 8 years of implementation of macaubal and 12 years of production and processing of macaúba fruits. A cash flow was used, with revenue, from the 9th to the 20th year, being the value of the production of beans, peanuts, almond oil and pulp flour. The investment flow corresponds to the cost of implementing macaubal, deducting revenue from food production from the 1st to the 8th year, the operational expenses of temporary crops and the cost of processing macaúba from the 9th to the 20th year. It was observed that, in the 8 years of macaubal implementation, the cash flow balance was negative in years 1, 5, 7 and 8 (high costs with cultural treatments), and positive in years 2, 3, 4 and 6 ( income from integrated production exceeded operating expenses). With an annual production of 41.16 t/ha of macaúba fruit, 933.77 liters of almond oil and 2.75 tons of pulp flour were obtained, generating annual gross revenue of R$46,688.31 and R$ 137,902.08 respectively. Added to this is the value of the production of beans (R$ 2,883.83) and peanuts (R$ 5,824.08). The investment, in year 1, was R$29,473.35, ranging from R$2,085.15 to R$3,782.56 until year 6, when cultural treatments increased the values to R$4,461.84 and R$5,955 .43, in years 7 and 8, respectively. From the 9th year onwards, it stabilizes at around R$7,611.63. The integrated cultivation system proved to be economically viable, with an IRR of 30% and NPV of R$ 221,142.71, representing a promising alternative for the inclusion of family farming in the macaúba production chain.
