Introduction: Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs) are transmitted through unprotected sexual contact, from mother to baby during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Early diagnosis is crucial to improve individuals' quality of life and reduce the spread, as medication can disrupt the transmission chain. This is justified by increasing data estimated by the World Health Organization, which reported around 374 million new cases in 2020, with trichomoniasis being the most prevalent. Currently, prejudice and lack of knowledge about these diseases persist due to the presence of stigma, undoubtedly a key factor hindering diagnosis and treatment, particularly in the case of HIV due to its association with lack of cure. Objective: Given that the topic is considered taboo, the majority of people's knowledge is neglected. Therefore, it is of utmost importance to explain about HPV and its relationship with cervical cancer, as well as to inform about the significance of HIV testing with new possibilities, such as self-testing that can be conducted by the individual with proper guidance in case of any abnormal result. Method: The Project was directed towards workers of the Department of Environment, involving the distribution of pamphlets about HPV and a demonstration of the HIV self-test. The self-test involves using a swab on oral secretions, placing it in a tube with a diluent solution, and then inserting a test strip into the solution. Result: Apart from a rich exchange of experiences between professionals and medical students present on the day of the conversation, it was of utmost importance to guide them on seeking medical help if necessary. Furthermore, significant engagement from the population regarding the topic was observed, as many were unaware of the existence of HIV self-testing and the connection between HPV and cervical cancer. Conclusion: Given the high incidence of sexually transmitted infections, this project provided encouragement to the population on the subject and aimed to dismantle existing prejudice. Lastly, it's worth emphasizing the importance of conducting medical campaigns outside of hospital settings to directly reach the population and alleviate potential apprehension and anxiety associated with visiting healthcare environments, thus promoting well-being.
