Introduction: In recent years, physical activity has been a recurring theme in scientific studies, thus proving its many benefits and making society aware of its practices. We can define physical activity as any body movement that promotes energy expenditure greater than its own state of rest. Bodybuilding is a form of exercise that involves using free weights, machines, or your own body weight to strengthen and tone your muscles. However, it is important to remember that bodybuilding must be practiced safely and under the guidance of a qualified professional, to avoid injuries and ensure that the exercises are performed properly and effectively. There is still speculation about the development and maintenance of muscle flexibility through resistance training, the lack of studies specifically aimed at analyzing the flexibility of resistance training practitioners, the comparison of flexibility levels between resistance training practitioners and non-resistance training practitioners appears as an investigation problem. practitioners. Objective: To identify the level of hip flexibility of resistance training practitioners compared to physically active people in order to find out if the practice of this modality causes damage to the development of flexibility. Methods: To carry out this study, the GPAQ questionnaire will be used to determine whether individuals are physically active. Individuals will be separated into two groups, one group of resistance exercise practitioners (G1) and another group containing physically active people (G2). We will use the Wells bank as a method to evaluate the hip flexibility of each participant individually, 3 attempts will be made with 1 minute of rest between them, the attempt containing the greatest flexibility of each individual will be considered. The data obtained will be analyzed and we will identify which group has greater flexibility. Result: The questionnaires were applied to the participants and we randomly selected 40 people divided into two groups (G1 and G2) to carry out the tests. Tests with the participants have already started but have not yet been completed to obtain the desired results. The present study is in progress. Conclusion: With the results obtained, it is expected to be able to quantify the percentage of flexibility of the participants and thereby identify which group had greater and lesser flexibility. Comparing the results of each group, we will be able to analyze whether the practice of resistance training influences flexibility.
