Introduction: Burn wounds can result from a heat source, exposure to certain chemicals, or a high level of electricity. To assess the severity of the injury and determine appropriate treatment for the affected area, calculating the extent of burns is crucial in establishing the degree of impairment and guiding treatment decisions. There are various ways for an individual to sustain severe burns, and it’s evident that individuals with more severe burns face a higher likelihood of mortality, infections, or the development of permanent physical injuries. As such, both pre- hospital and in-hospital care are of utmost importance to enhance a patient’s chances and quality of life.
