Abstract

Introduction: In the past few years, the LGBTQIAPN+ community has received more evidence, conquered more space in society and their rights are being conquered every day. In 2009, the Special Secretariat for Human Rights (SSHR) published the National Plan for the Promotion of Citizenship and Human Rights of Lesbians, Gays, Bisexuals, Transvestites and Transsexuals, which brings in item 5.48 of its strategic axes the “Provision of universal access and assisted human reproduction for Lesbians, Gays, Bisexuals, Transvestites and Transsexuals in reproductive age.” In addition, the Ministry of Health created in 2013 the Basic Care Notebook - Sexual and Reproductive Rights, which have topics aimed at promoting sexual and reproductive health in diversity, including the LGBTQIAP+ population, and bringing the importance of professional clarification for the population and the guarantee of access to their reproductive rights, currently including methods of In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) and Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection. Objective: To identify the knowledge of nurses working in primary care in the city of Catanduva about assisted reproduction methods offered by the SUS and the reproductive rights of the LGBTQIAPN+ population. Methodology: This is a qualitative study. The data will be collected through structured face-to-face interviews with Primary Care nurses through a questionnaire prepared by the authors. The questions that make up the interviews are elaborated in three stages, the first brings questions about the professionals' knowledge about RHA; the second, with questions addressing their knowledge about the LGBTQIAPN+ population; and the third, addressing the issues together and bringing the theme proposed by the research, about RHA for the LGBTQIAPN+ population. The participants should sign the informed consent form in order to be eligible to respond to the questionnaire. This project has been approved by the Ethics and Research Committee, opinion CAAE: 60639122.0.0000.5430. Partial results: Respondents so far, including professionals for questionnaire validation, indicate that they have knowledge of some assisted reproduction techniques from the perspective of the LGBTQIAPN+ population. They mention the existence of laws that guarantee access through the public healthcare system (SUS), but without specifying the procedures that start in primary care. Additionally, 50% of respondents mentioned difficulties in access due to lack of knowledge and challenges in approaching the LGBTQIAPN+ population in healthcare settings. The goal of this research is to identify the nurses' knowledge and potential gaps in addressing the needs of the LGBTQIAPN+ population, in order to enhance access to care and sexual and reproductive health.
