Abstract

We are developing a  ΔE-Eres telescope detector for depth profiling of hydrogen isotopes by elastic recoil detection analysis (ERDA). Energy loss (ΔE) was detected by an ionization chamber, and residual energy (Eres) was detected by silicon surface detector (SSD). In previous research, ΔE was detected by a thin 3.7 μm transmission detector. The production of this detector has been, however, discontinued, therefore we propose an ionization chamber as an alternative for ΔE detection.
