Population aging is a global phenomenon that is transforming societies around the world. As people live longer, there is a need to promote policies and practices that ensure healthy and active ageing. The article aims to reflect on the Decade of Healthy Aging, proclaimed by the World Health Organization (WHO), which recognized the importance and objective of highlighting the need for coordinated actions to address the various aspects of population aging, the time designated to promote policies and practices that improve the quality of life and well-being of older people. This concept recognizes that aging is a natural process of life and seeks to ensure that older adults have access to adequate resources and support to live in a healthy, active, and dignified manner. This is a theoretical, partial essay of the dissertation in administration carried out at PPAD/UNAMA.
