Abstract

Learning is the usual means for developing skills at work and is often associated with training, development, and education (TD&E) processes. However, individuals also learn from their own work environment, through information sharing and observation of behavior among peers, among other informal strategies. In this context, the present study aimed to investigate the influence of biographical and professional variables on the perception of support for formal and informal learning in a federal public organization. The data collection instrument was structured with sociodemographic questions and two scales validated in the national literature. The results showed a perception that the organization encourages formal and informal learning of its employees. However, they also indicate the possibility, in the context studied, of promoting and improving some factors that facilitate organizational learning.
