Embedded systems have become essential in modern life, contributing significantly to sectors such as industry, healthcare, education, and the environment. This experience report presents projects developed by students of the Undergraduate Program in Embedded Systems at the Federal Institute of Santa Catarina (IFSC), Tubarão campus, focused on community needs and highlighting their social relevance and practical applications. Examples include a wildfire prevention system that monitors environmental conditions to alert farmers and prevent uncontrolled fires, and interactive educational tools, such as digital games and question-and-answer systems, designed to increase student engagement, promote active learning, and support accessibility. These projects demonstrate how embedded systems, with low cost, versatility, and automation capabilities, can solve real-world problems, improve quality of life, and foster innovation across multiple fields.
