Environmental concerns associated with synthetic organic chemistry have posed stringent and compelling demands for greener processes. The development of cost-efficient and environmentally benign catalytic systems has become one of the main subjects in modern chemistry. In many chemical processes, organic solvents are widely used and had been a cause of major environmental concern due to their hazards.1
To this end, this work describe a combinatorial approach based on the Ugi-4CR for the development of new prolyl peptide-lipopeptoid hybrid catalyst library.2 The catalytic behavior of the prolyl peptide-lipopeptoid hybrids has been evaluated in the asymmetric Michael addition of aldehyde to nitroolefins having water as an
environmental benign reaction media.3 Remarkably, most catalysts containing long alkyl chain showed great efficacy and rendered the Michael adducts in good to excellent enantio- and diastereoselectivity.
