Abstract

The interest in aromatic azides has a broad spectrum and can be used directly1 or like precursor2, 3 in the formation and stabilization of metal complexes, as precursors of drugs and molecules of medicinal interest4, 5. The literature shows some methods using catalysts such as proline coupled to copper iodide via heating6, and applications of ultrasonic routes7 from aryl halides. This work has the proposal of revealing a methodological study that put together both routes and optimizes reaction processes that significantly reduce the reaction time, facilitating methods that need to be carried out under high pressure, maintaining considerable yields. Also noteworthy are the compliance with high pH values for the execution of the proposed reactions besides the absence of an inert atmosphere. Such as obtaining of the aryl azide from 4-bromostyrene and 3-bromobenzeldehyde in 2 hours with yields greater 70% of conversion.
