QUALIDADE DO LEITE E CONTROLE DA MASTITE EM PROPRIEDADE LEITEIRA FAMILIAR: INTERVENÇÃO TÉCNICA E EXTENSIONISTA

The quality of milk is interfered by several factors, among the main ones are hygiene and the presence of diseases such as mastitis. This work aimed to follow and guide a producer from the technical assistance and extension to instruct good practices of milking and disease control. Monthly property visits were carried out, always following the milking routine. Data collection was done through the California mastit test and through the black background mug, the data obtained were tabulated in electronic spreadsheets for the descriptive analysis. The vast majority of the mammary rooms presented subclinical mastitis 65.44%, while 12.5% had clinical mastitis. In addition, the animals of the stock had a dry roof due to the occurrence of previous mastitis. The somatic cell count values were provided by the dairy which in turn did not correctly pass the results making it difficult to evaluate the total values of the tank on a monthly basis. The extension activity provided a significant reduction in mastitis and somatic cell counts, improving milk quality.
