Resumo

The objective of this work was to test the preference of animal and vegetable biscuit for dogs. The experiment was performed Unipampa, in the months of April and May. We used 25 dogs of different races and ages. The palatability test was performed in plastic feeders and identified for a period of three consecutive days, once a day, and three dogs and vegans were given simultaneously to the dogs for a period of ten minutes. After ten minutes of observation the weight of the leftovers was recorded to calculate the intake ratio (RI). The results obtained in the present study indicate a significant difference (P = 0.0001), presenting an intake ratio of 56.09 ± 1.05% for meaty biscuits compared to vegan (40.94 ± 1.06%). Analyzing the firstchoice factor, the vegan food presented a significant difference (P = 0.0001), where 58.7% of the animals moved to the biscuit. For the first ingestion, the meat biscuit presented a significant difference (P = 0.0001) of 74.67%. It is concluded that the intake ratio was higher in meat biscuits than can be due to its carnivorous food habit. However, they also showed good acceptance of vegan food.
