PRÁTICAS DE CONTROLE DO CARRAPATO - Rhipicephalus microplus - USADAS EM PROPRIEDADES LEITEIRAS DO MUNICÍPIO DE CURITIBANOS, PLANALTO CATARINENSE

The objective of this study was to identify the practices of prevention and control of this parasite used in dairy farms in the municipality of Curitibanos, Santa Catarina. Eighteen dairy farms were selected, where the data were collected through a questionnaire about the use of ectoparasiticides, active principles, sources of indications of products and exchanges of active principles. A descriptive analysis was performed, establishing the frequency of responses for each studied variable. In most of the properties studied (61%) synthetic chemicals are used to control ticks. Only 26% of them have technical assistance. Most milk producers (66%) claimed to carry out the exchange of active principles, but without regularity or technical basis. It was observed that the knowledge of the producers about the available formulations is scarce or incorrect.
