Resumo

The study was carried out to evaluate the effect of the microclimate on voluntary consumption and body condition score of hyperprorifera swine females in maternity. The design was completely randomized with two treatments (1 - Exhaust and 2 - Evaporative Panel), with 14 matrices per treatment. Daily feed intake and body condition score were evaluated. There was no effect among the treatments for feed intake, being 6,24 kg and 6,39 kg for the exhaust and evaporative panels, respectively. The microclimate of the treatments influenced the body condition score, in which the swine females submitted to the exhaust treatment mobilized more body reserves at weaning compared to the beginning of lactation. However, the increase in air temperature did not influence the voluntary intake of feed, but rather the mobilization of the body stock of the lactating dams.
