Resumo

Subclinical mastitis is an inflammatory disease that affects the mammary gland and can lead to a decrease in reproductive performance. The objective of this work was to evaluate the different somatic cell score in milk and to correlate with the reproductive performance of cows in different stages of lactation. The treatments were composed of four somatic cell counts (<200 thousand, between 201 and 400 thousand, between 401 and 600 thousand and> 601 thousand / ml). Ten cows (replicates) were used in each treatment. Pregnancy rates were obtained through milk control and gestation was diagnosed by rectal ultrasonography. The number of inseminations per gestation and the period of service would differ statistically as a function of somatic cell count values in milk. The animal with lower somatic cell score obtained lower amounts of semen doses and shorter period of service. When the animal category was analyzed, no significant difference was found. It is concluded that the low somatic cell counts promote improvement in the number of artificial inseminations and in the service period of dairy cows.
